The owners of this 1950s vintage house were looking for a more open plan that would get rid of the space-wasting corners of their former “U” layout. They also wanted to accommodate some deluxe appliances to put the joy back into their cooking experience but they didn’t want to have to move windows because of the impact on the budget. Let’s just say that there was a lot of measuring and re-measuring with every inch counting on this straight-line layout.
